1606: The Great Construction Works at Edo Castle - Sengoku Shogun Map
The Edo shogunate ordered daimyo across the country to contribute labor and resources to Tenka Bushin, large-scale public works, advancing construction of Edo Castle's outer stone ramparts. Prominent daimyo including Katō Kiyomasa took charge of procuring stone and overseeing the work, transforming Edo into a grand castle town befitting the shogun's residence.
