He married the elder sister of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and became the biological father of three sons: Hidetsugu, Hidekatsu, and Hidesuke, who all bore the title of Hideyoshi's nephew. As Hideyoshi's power expanded, he was established as daimyo of Inuyama Castle in Owari with 100,000 koku, and later became lord of Kiyosu Castle, taking a central role in the Toyotomi clan. After Hidetsugu became lord of Ōmi Hachiman with 430,000 koku, Yoshifusa was positioned as Hidetsugu's guardian, though his specific role remains unconfirmed. In connection with the Toyotomi Hidetsugu incident in Bunroku 4, he was stripped of his position and reportedly banished to Sanuki Province, though the specific location and duration of exile vary across sources.
