Daimyo of Iyo and naval commander

Katō Yoshiaki

加藤嘉明

A daimyo who achieved military distinction in the 1583 Shizugatake War, was based in Iyo, and engaged in naval operations and the Korean front. Though grouped with Fukushima Masanori and Wakizaka Yasuharu as one of the 'Seven Spears of Shizugatake,' the three did not share the same domain and role. Kiyomasa's case is characterized by his responsibility for naval military service as a daimyo controlling Iyo's ports and ships.
