Magistrate and intermediary of the Oda regime
松井友閑
An Oda retainer who, as a close attendant and messenger, connected military and administrative affairs, and was involved in negotiations with the imperial court, temples and shrines, and urban centers. Control of Kyoto after the capital entry could not be maintained by military means alone; it was supported by intermediaries and administrative work. He is often portrayed as a tea master or diplomatic monk, but the extent of his authority in the Oda regime must be verified document by document.
