Close attendant to Oda Nobunaga

Mori Ranmaru

森蘭丸

birth year unknown – 1582

A close attendant to Oda Nobunaga, whose personal name was Narimatsu. He served both Nobunaga and Nobutaka closely, and died at Nobunaga's side at the Honnō-ji Incident in 1582. Attendants and mounted guards in the Oda regime did not serve merely ceremonial roles as pages but could act as messengers, direct military operations, manage castles, and serve as intermediaries. Most famous anecdotes about his appearance and final moments depend on later military narratives and fiction; confirmed activities are limited to what can be verified in contemporary documents.
