Kawajiri Hidetaka

An Oda retainer placed in Kai after the Takeda's fall in March 1582, responsible for reorganizing military and administrative structures in the former Takeda territories. The Takeda's extinction was not merely a change of rulers but an event that destabilized the relationships among retainers, castles, temples and shrines, villages, and tax collection—all at once. The new ruler needed time to incorporate former Takeda retainers and rebuild regional relationships. However, his rule of Kai lasted only about three months before the Honnō-ji Incident, and he is said to have been killed in the subsequent backlash. The brevity itself became a precondition for the Tenshō Disturbance, and the failure cannot be explained solely by later accounts of 'harsh rule.'
