Senior Oda retainer: Ise and Kanto regions
滝川一益
Senior retainer to Oda Nobunaga involved in the expansion of Oda power in Ise and politics concerning the Kitabatake clan; after the Takeda's extinction in 1582, he was stationed in the Kanto region. In Ise, he was positioned to support Oda Nobukatsu's succession to the Kitabatake house, and Kuki Yoshitaka of Shima is said to have served Nobunaga through Kazumasu. After the Takeda's fall, he was posted to Maebashi in Kōzuke, tasked with managing and defending newly occupied territory bordering the Hōjō, Uesugi, and Tokugawa. The Honnō-ji Incident prevented maintaining this reorganization; the conflict with the Hōjō and withdrawal from Kōzuke became one starting point of the Tenshō Disturbance. Many accounts describe him as 'Kanto Deputy Shōgun,' but which documents granted which authorities requires separate verification.
