Mino warrior: Hashiba forces

Known as a retainer of the Saito of Mino, he later joined Hashiba Hideyoshi's campaigns in Harima and China. He was commonly called Hanbei. In 1564, during Saito Tatsuoki's time, he temporarily occupied Inabayama Castle together with Andō Morinari. He joined Hideyoshi's faction in the 1578 Miki War and died of illness on June 13, 1579, at the Hiraiyama encampment. The motives for the castle occupation, the numbers involved, the circumstances of its return, and the image of him as a military strategist alongside Kuroda Yoshitaka as one of the 'Two Hanbei' depend on later accounts and cannot be treated as established facts.
