松平忠吉

Born as the fourth son of Tokugawa Ieyasu in the year of Oda Nobunaga's death. At the Battle of Sekigahara, he made his first appearance in battle as the son-in-law of Ii Naomasa and served as the vanguard for the Eastern Army. After the battle, Ieyasu positioned Tadayoshi as lord of Kiyosu Castle in Owari Province, placing him in a position to serve as the watchdog of the Ieyasu regime against the Toyotomi from the Tōkai region. Through his governance as lord of Kiyosu Castle, he contributed to the construction of the Tokugawa regime's control system extending from the Kantō to the west.
