1491: The Death of Horikoshi Kubō Ashikaga Masatomo - Sengoku Shogun Map

Ashikaga Masatomo, the Horikoshi Kubō overseeing Izu, died of illness, and a succession struggle erupted when his eldest son Chachamaru killed his stepmother and half-brother to seize the position. This unrest would directly trigger Hōjō Sōun's invasion of Izu two years later. In Ōmi, shogun Yoshiki launched a second campaign against Rokkaku Takayori, who fled into the mountains of Kōga.
