1498: The Meiō Earthquake and Ise Sōzui's Conquest of Izu - Sengoku Shogun Map

On September 20, the Meiō earthquake struck off the Tōkaidō coast. Its tsunami devastated coastal communities and breached the Imagiriguchi outlet of Lake Hamana. In the same year, Ise Sōzui captured Fukane Castle in southern Izu and dealt a final defeat to Ashikaga Chachamaru's faction.
