1499: The Death of Rennyo and the Hatakeyama Conflict in Kawachi - Sengoku Shogun Map
In March, Rennyo died at the Yamashina Hongan-ji South Residence at the age of 85. In Kawachi, Hatakeyama Yoshitoyo captured Nozaki Castle in the first month but was defeated by Hatakeyama Hisanobu's faction and took his own life near the end of the month, as the conflict between the two Hatakeyama lines continued.
