1511: The Death of Ashikaga Yoshizumi and the Battle of Funaokayama - Sengoku Shogun Map
Former shogun Ashikaga Yoshizumi died in Ōmi in August. Later that month, the forces of Hosokawa Takakuni and Ōuchi Yoshioki, supporting shogun Ashikaga Yoshitada, defeated Hosokawa Sumimoto's side at Funaokayama in Kyoto, enabling Yoshitada to return to the capital.

- 1511-08: Ashikaga Yoshizumi Dies at Mizukuki Okayama Castle — Former shogun Ashikaga Yoshizumi died at Mizukuki Okayama Castle in Ōmi on the fourteenth day of the eighth month. He had been backed by Hosokawa Sumimoto's faction against shogun Ashikaga Yoshitada.
- 1511-08: Battle of Funaokayama — Hosokawa Takakuni and Ōuchi Yoshioki's forces defeated Hosokawa Sumimoto's side at Funaokayama on the twenty-fourth day of the eighth month. Shogun Ashikaga Yoshitada returned to Kyoto on the first day of the ninth month and restored his government.
