1527: The Battle of Katsurakawara—Hosokawa Takakuni's Defeat - Sengoku Shogun Map

The army of Miyoshi Motonaga and Yanagimoto Kataharu, backing Hosokawa Harumoto, clashed with the forces of Kanrei Hosokawa Takakuni at Katsurakawara in Kyoto and crushed them. Takakuni fled to Ōmi with shogun Ashikaga Yoshiharu, while Harumoto's faction established a new regime known as the Sakai Kubō and seized effective control of the Kinai region.
