1535: The Moriyama Incident—The Sudden Death of Matsudaira Kiyoyasu - Sengoku Shogun Map

Matsudaira Kiyoyasu, who had advanced the unification of Mikawa, was killed by a retainer at age twenty-five while campaigning at Moriyama in Owari against Oda Nobuhide, an event known as the Moriyama Incident. The loss of its leader severely weakened the Matsudaira and contributed to their later subordination to the Imagawa.
