Ōuchi Yoshioki

Naitō Hironori, head of the hereditary deputy governors of Nagato and a senior Ōuchi retainer, was executed, and his former lands were redistributed under Ōuchi Yoshioki.

Ōuchi Yoshioki escorted the exiled former shogun Ashikaga Yoshitada, later known as Yoshitane, into Kyoto with support from Hosokawa Takakuni and others. Yoshitada returned to shogunal government under a political order backed by Yoshioki and Takakuni.

Hosokawa Takakuni and Ōuchi Yoshioki's forces defeated Hosokawa Sumimoto's side at Funaokayama on the twenty-fourth day of the eighth month. Shogun Ashikaga Yoshitada returned to Kyoto on the first day of the ninth month and restored his government.

Ōuchi Yoshioki ended an eleven-year stay in Kyoto in support of Ashikaga Yoshitane and returned to his domains, where he worked to rebuild government centered on Yamaguchi.

The Ōuchi and Hosokawa missions clashed at Ningbo in Ming China over priority in trade. The incident, which began on the thirtieth day of the fourth month, seriously disrupted Sino-Japanese trade.
