Head of the Mori house: Mino Province

Mori Nagayoshi

森長可

birth year unknown – 1584

Son of Mori Yoshinari; after his father's death in battle, he became a military commander based in Mino. He also campaigned in Shinano and participated in the reorganization of former Takeda territories. After the Honnō-ji Incident in 1582, he joined Hashiba Hideyoshi's faction, and in the 1584 Komaki-Nagakute War fought alongside Ikeda Tsuneoki and Ikeda Motosuke, with whom he died in battle. His role should not be explained merely as a fierce general; regional military movements must be traced through the relationships of fiefs, allied troops, and castles.
