Yamashina Hongan-ji Is Burned

Yamashina Hongan-ji was destroyed in an attack by the Rokkaku and followers of the Hokke sect. The Hongan-ji head Shōnyo moved his base to the Ōsaka gobō.

After being driven from Yamashina, Shōnyo made the Ōsaka gobō his base, establishing Ishiyama (Ōsaka) Hongan-ji with a temple town enclosed by moats and earthworks.
