Hatakeyama Hisanobu

Hatakeyama Hisanobu, who had fled to Kii after the Meiō Coup, advanced into Kawachi, but this year's counteroffensive failed and he renewed the campaign the following year.

Advancing from Kii, Hatakeyama Hisanobu captured Takaya Castle, drove back Hatakeyama Yoshitoyo's faction, and gained the upper hand across southern Kawachi.

Hatakeyama Yoshitoyo captured Nozaki Castle on the tenth day of the first month but was defeated by Hatakeyama Hisanobu's faction and took his own life near the end of the month. His son Yoshihide inherited the conflict between the two Hatakeyama lines in Kawachi.

Hatakeyama Hisanobu and Hatakeyama Yoshihide, rival claimants to power in Kawachi, reconciled in December. Hisanobu withdrew to Kii the following year, and relations between the factions remained vulnerable to changes in central politics.

Acting on Hosokawa Masamoto's orders, Akazawa Tomotsune campaigned through Kawachi from the first through the second month, defeated both Hatakeyama Hisanobu's and Yoshihide's factions, and forced them to withdraw into Yamato.
